While designing or photographing a picture, the most unwanted thing is the background. In some cases, it needs to be removed to give the final finished touch to the image. At times, the background color doesn’t come out to be perfect and so the editing is required. For a magazine shoot, or for an office presentation or some illustration, background must be removed or replaced with another background that you like. Here I am mentioning few tools to remove the image background, take a look:
Remove image background, using the Magic Wand Tool
The images having a simple background with not much of the colors are handled well by the magic wand tool. The purpose of this tool is to separate the color and cut out the image from its background. Open any image in Photoshop and unlock it first before starting to work. Then pick the magic wand tool from the tools palette and start clicking on the areas that you want to remove.
In the magic wand tool, there is a setting named Tolerance that helps you to set the intensity of the tool. Keeping the value at low will select less area and vice versa. If the image has a single colored background, keep the value higher. In one click, the background will be removed.
Remove image background, using the Polygonal Lasso Tool
Polygonal lasso tool is quite easy to use. For something complex and shaped, this tool comes in handy. You can use this tool where there are no curves and the selection is straight. Now with the area selected, you can cut it out from its background by copying pasting it on another backdrop.
Remove image background, using the Magic Eraser Tool
Another great tool is the magic eraser tool. It is used to remove the background color by rubbing on it. Pick the tool from the tools palette and start rubbing on the areas that you want to remove. The exception here is that the background will become transparent.
Remove image background, using the Background Eraser Tool
Much like the magic eraser tool, this tool works great for removing the animal images, hair or trees. The detailed edgy things get removed well with this tool. When you click on the picture, it automatically converts the background layer to an unlocked layer making it easy to work.
These are the few tools that make background removal an easy chore. To add a breeze to the photos, use these tools properly and get some stunning results. Each tool is unique in its own way so why not try them all one by one?
